No images? Click here GCCA asks YOU to join our grassroots campaign to oppose the PRO Act Last week, GCCA unveiled our first grassroots campaign to oppose the PRO Act. The PRO Act would undermine worker rights, ensnare employers in unrelated labor disputes, disrupt the economy, and force individual Americans to pay union dues regardless of their wishes. We are asking you to take action and urge your Congressional leaders to oppose the PRO Act. With Congress set to vote on the PRO Act as early as this week, your voice must be heard to stop this harmful legislation. In addition, GCCA has joined 247 other organizations in sending a letter to every congressional member expressing our concerns and opposition of this proposed legislation. Senate Passes $1.9 Trillion Pandemic-Relief PlanOn Saturday, March 6, 2021, the Senate voted to approve the $1.9 trillion pandemic aid package by a narrow vote of 50-49. The bill now heads back to the House of Representatives for final passage with the intent of President Biden signing it into law by March 14. GCCA Supports Making the 199A Tax Deduction Permanent GCCA joined 82 other business groups in sending a letter to Senate Finance and House Ways and Means Committee leadership expressing support in making the 20-percent pass-through deduction (199A) permanent, which was a key provision in the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act in 2017 and is set to expire at the end of 2025. OSHA Proposes Revisions To Hazard Communication Standard On February 16, 2021, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) published a notice of proposed rulemaking to modify its Hazard Communication Standard (HCS) to conform to the latest revisions to the United Nations’ Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS). Comments are due to OSHA by April 19, 2021.
