Local Beekeepers Project

Dear Beekeeper,

Arnia is developing a special hive monitoring project for local associations based on feedback received from the many local meetings we have attended.

This will provide a range of additional support measures to help associations adopt remote hive monitoring technology on their apiaries for the benefit of all their members. This will enable you to:

·         Provide all members with access to the hive data and share in the knowledge generated.

·         Run your own studies, such as such as comparing different hive types or management practices.

·         Use the data in beekeeper training and education programmes.

·         Participate in Webinars about interpreting hive data and the results of research into bee health and behaviour.

·         Create new outreach activity, such as engaging with local schools.

We will also analyse the aggregated data from the national network of monitored hives and share this with all participating groups. The pooled data would provide an incredibly rich knowledge source for the UK beekeeping community.  The monitors could also potentially provide an early warning network for Asian Hornet attacks.

To make this project worthwhile we need the backing of 100 local associations. If you are interested in participating please register now by clicking here or on the link below. We will also be at the BBKA Spring Convention if you would like to visit our stand. A data sheet is attached which outlines monitoring system features.
