Update - December 2019

  1. Central and Eastern Sydney PHN: Update from Central and Eastern Sydney PHN, upcoming events, training and resources.
  2. NSW Users and Aids Association (NUAA): Find out about NUAA’s new training for a Peer Workforce, their needle and syringe program and more.
  3. Pathways Maroubra, The Salvation Army - Recovery Services: Pathways Maroubra continues to support individuals with alcohol and other drug issues within the CESPHN region through one to one case management, group sessions and assessment and referrals for treatment.
  4. Drug and Alcohol Multicultural Education Centre (DAMEC): DAMEC hosted a recent forum, Cultural Diversity in Opioid Use.
  5. We Help Ourselves (WHOs): WHOS Celebrates 20 years of providing Therapeutic Community residential rehabilitation programs for individuals on opioid substitution treatment.
  6. The Matilda Centre for Research in Mental Health and Substance Use: eCliPSE will help researchers understand how people access care. Find out more about the project here.
  7. Community Restorative Centre (CRC): CRC attended a few fantastic NAIDOC events which took place in prisons across Sydney.
  8. Odyssey House: Odyssey House Community Services offer a Recovery Support Group where each group member has the opportunity to explore and expand on their recovery journey.
  9. WEAVE Youth and Community Services: Weave has launched a youth specific SMART Recovery program with a twist. The group is for young people managing challenging behaviours, such as, but not isolated to alcohol and drug use.
  10. Drug Health Services, SLHD: Accessing drug and alcohol services over the holiday season.
  11. St Vincent’s Health (SVHN): St Vincent’s has recently expanded the Drug and Alcohol Specialist Advisory Service (DASAS) to include two Clinical Nurse Consultants (CNC) in addition to Addiction Medicine Specialists.
