Thank You for "Rocking the Bald!"

Our community definitely rocks for funding pediatric cancer research.  In partnership with the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, Keaton’s Child Cancer Alliance hosted 8 separate events with more than 590 shavees, raising over $490,000.00.  These funds will be used to fund pediatric cancer research locally and nationally.

Thank You to everyone who “Rocked the Bald” with KCCA this March.  It is due to your continued support and commitment that these events were yet again a huge success.  A special thank you to our barbers from Supercuts, our amazing sponsors & volunteers who made all of these events possible.

Meet Keaton Kiddo ~ Jabob

The Alcala Family moved from Texas to Sacramento and were adjusting to a being a new family of four with the arrival of Baby Jacob. During a holiday visit to celebrate his First Christmas, Jacob's father noticed that his right shin was swollen. Mom also glanced over and her initial reaction was, "He probably fell down, let's put some ice on it."  After returning home, Jacob took antibiotics over the course of 2 months for a possible infection.

With no improvement, the next step was an MRI which showed a mass on his leg. Jacob was quickly referred to UCSF for a biopsy. Annabel will never forget the day she heard, "I am sorry. The cells appear to be abnormal, the pathologist thinks he might have Rhabdomyosarcoma." This news was shared with family and loved ones in Texas who sent their support from afar.

Supercuts, and especially local salon owner Jodi McCray, have stood, or more accurately shaved alongside KCCA for more than a decade.

Jodi and her amazing team of professional stylists have graciously removed the hair of thousands of children, women and men throughout the greater Sacramento area all in the effort to raise much needed funds for pediatric cancer research at our St. Baldrick’s head shavings events.

This past March we reached an amazing milestone, surpassing $8 million raised to date for pediatric cancer research. An amazing achievement, only made possible with Supercuts help.

Supercuts’ commitment to KCCA goes beyond our head shaving events. Under Jodi’s leadership, the staff of all 22 of her Supercut locations throughout the greater Sacramento area are engaged with building awareness of childhood cancer and actively fundraising. Furthermore, Supercuts continues to be an annual partner sponsor to KCCA.
