PublicationsSteve Pantilat and colleagues developed a consensus definition for advance care planning for adults to guide clinical, research, and policy initiatives. ![]() Descriptions of the holdover admission process in internal medicine are sparse; therefore Jonathan Duong, Trevor Jensen, Michelle Mourad, and James Harrison conducted a qualitative study published in the Journal of General Internal Medicine to describe this type of handoff and explore factors affecting its quality. Sajan Patel and his team asked physicians at a teaching hospital if their patients were on telemetry, and found that overall they were incorrect 27% of the time. These findings have implications for both patient safety and telemetry overuse.
