The Australian International Airshow 2019 kicked off this week at Avalon, with just shy of 700 exhibitors from 30 nations setting up shop alongside a huge variety of aircraft ranging from unmanned platforms to F-35s and a B-52 Stratofortress. Boeing and RAAF used the opportunity to unveil an Australian-designed and developed unmanned fighter-like aircraft that will accompany and protect manned platforms.

In other news (mostly from Avalon), a number of companies and universities announce collaborative agreements, RAAF confirms that a seventh Triton is still on the table, the Avalon 2019 Innovation Award winners are announced, RAN helicopters are set to return to Scotland for Exercise Joint Warrior, the Australian Space Agency partners with Lockheed Martin, and Duntroon gets a new health centre.
