X-ES Announces Rugged, Intel Xeon D Enhanced COM Express (Type 7) Mezzanine Module

The XPedite7650 is an Intel® Xeon® D processor-based mezzanine module designed to the COM Express® Basic form factor (95 mm x 125 mm), and the first X-ES product to be designed in accordance with the COM Express® (Type 7) standard.

The small footprint and standards-based form factor make the XPedite7650 perfect for portable and rugged environments, while providing an upgrade path for the future.

Rugged PC/104-Plus SBC Featuring Intel “Kaby Lake” Processor

VersaLogic Corp. has announced “Liger”—a rugged new PC/104-Plus Single Board Computer (SBC).

Based on Intel’s new high performance “Kaby Lake” processor, Liger combines high processing and video performance, moderate power consumption (12-14W typ.), hardware-level security, and backwards compatibility with systems using PC/104-Plus ISA or PCI expansion. The Liger is covered by VersaLogic's 5+ year availability guarantee and a 5-year product warranty.

Arkville DPDK IP core for BittWare FPGA boards

Arkville DPDK IP core for BittWare FPGA boards offers a high-performance kernel bypass data transfer between the FPGA and CPU.

When used with BittWare's Xilinx UltraScale+ based XUPP3R PCIe module the demonstrated bandwidth exceeded 150 Gbps on a single CPU core and a single Gen3 x16 PCIe interface (this board boasts two such interfaces). This IP core is useful for a wide range of applications - any time you need top performance in moving data between the FPGA and your host processor. BittWare also uses Arkville in its new Stream family of network products, and you can see it in action at the ISC event in Frankfurt next month.

3G-SDI Continues to Gain Acceptance Based on SWaP Benefits

Airborne ISR and other defense installations have seen significant increase in the use of 3G-SDI (1080p60) for sensor data and video distribution.

The SDI format offers benefits such as transmission over longer distance and SWaP (size, weight and power) benefits with smaller/lighter cables when compared with DVI, HDMI, and Display Port.
