Tech Time: How To Register for Library Events
By Emily Tyschenko, Programming Librarian
We have a great selection of programs at the library! It's easy to view them and register. Visit our website at www.guelphpl.ca and go to our events calendar. Here you can view and sort our events based on date, location, age or event type. You will also see that most of our programs are drop-in and do not require registration, but for those that do, select the purple ‘Register’ button below the event details. You can register by inputting your library card number and PIN or by inputting your name and contact information. You also have an option to add a guest to your registration. Enjoy our programs with friends or family members! You can add up to five guests for any of our registered programs. Remember if you do add any guests to your reservation, only you will receive a confirmation email. Be sure to register for our summer programs soon because spots are filling up quickly!

Equip Your Outdoor Summer
By Deb Quaile, Interlibrary Loans
Sure, you can borrow books, magazines and DVDs from the library about fitness – and carrying those items home may build a little arm muscle. But we have other things to help get you outside, moving and playing! Ask library staff about borrowing a set of Eagle Optics Denali Binoculars with field guides to birds or check out a trail guide to explore the outdoors (look for call number 917.13 on the shelves). Perhaps a Fitbit – a personal wristband to track calorie burn, monitor heart rate and help maintain your workout as you move through your day. Or reserve the Insta360 ONE, our 360 degree VR camera, which comes with a quickstart guide to help you begin making your own memories. Keep active, stay engaged and enjoy your July!
