World’s biggest health challenges to be confronted in Wollongong

Consul General of China visits UOW
 

His Excellency Gu Xiaojie, who was appointed Consul General (Ambassadorial Rank) of the People’s Republic of China in Sydney in July this year, travelled to Wollongong to meet with members of the UOW leadership team, as well as with a group of student representatives and academic staff of Chinese background.

Scholarship strengthens ties with Dutch
 

During their State Visit, Their Majesties King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima attended an event hosted by the University of Sydney to launch the New Holland Scholarship Australia program as part of commemorative activities marking the 400th anniversary of the landing in Western Australia of Dutch Explorer Dirk Hartog, who made the first recorded landfall by a European on the West Australian coastline in 1616.

The Innovation Campus was awarded the Emerging Research Park Award at the Associations of University Research Parks (AURP) 2016 Awards of Excellence. India tops the batting order for international student experience
 

During a recent trip to India, UOW Vice-Chancellor, Professor Paul Wellings, CBE, visited Manipal University, one of India’s leading higher education institutions, to enter into a new strategic partnership.

 

Professor Wellings was accompanied on the trip by UOW Ambassador and cricket legend Adam Gilchrist, and was joined by Manipal University Vice-Chancellor, Dr H Vinod Bhat, at an MoU signing event in Manipal

Online Masters enables international students to access renowned maritime courses
 

UOW first in world to offer online study in ocean law and policy. During the visit to the Australian National Centre for Ocean Resources and Security (ANCORS), at UOW’s Innovation Campus, Senator Fierravanti-Wells, the Minister for International Development and the Pacific, launched the three Masters degrees – Masters of Maritime Policy; Masters of Maritime Studies; and Masters of Fisheries Policy – which were offered online from 2016.
