Take a Look Behind the Scenes ...

Greetings to you from Adare Manor!

The grounds of Adare Manor are full of action these days with construction teams and restoration specialists working diligently. Our skyline now features two large cranes and the Manor House is wrapped in scaffolding.

Preparations for the construction of our new West Wing got underway in April with the excavation for foundations and the pouring of the first layers of concrete. It is exciting to see a whole new part of Adare Manor starting to take shape! Our new West Wing will house an additional 40 bedrooms, bringing our room inventory to 104 on reopening in Autumn 2017.

The image above is an sample rendering of what one of these new bedrooms will look like, whilst below are some photos from the site of where the West Wing will stand. We look forward to sharing more images with you over the coming months.


 

Beasts and Beings at Adare Manor

Though Adare Manor was built in the 19th Century much of its decoration recalls the Middle Ages. The exterior of the building displays a wealth of gargoyles, window surrounds and heraldry harking back to an earlier era. Many of these carvings, both in stone and wood, show beasts and monsters taken from the Bestiary, a medieval book of beasts whose popularity was second only to that of the Bible.
