The Westmead Research Hub is hosting an Open Day for potential PhD, Honours and Masters students at the Westmead Institute of Medical Research. The Curtin PhD Scholarship for Clinical Research
Two generous scholarships are available for medical graduates to undertake a PhD through Sydney Medical School, with a focus on clinical research relevant to Indigenous or rural health.
These scholarships were established in 2015 by a generous donation from Dr Austin M Curtin, a rural surgeon passionate about improving rural and Indigenous health. Applicants must be an Australian citizens, permanent residents or New Zealand citizens. The scholarship is valued at $50,000p.a. for up to 3 years with a possible extension of 6 months. More Details

Postgraduate Scholarship in Computational Nanoscience
A full-time postgraduate scholarship is available for a suitably qualified candidate to undertake research studies leading to a PhD in theoretical chemistry. The project will use computer simulations to study nanoparticle interactions and self-assembly in the presence of interfaces, with relevance to designing new materials for filtration, sensing and solar energy capture. Effective Strategies for Raising Awareness on Drowning Reducion in Low and Middle Income Countries
A scholarship is available for a suitably qualified candidate to undertake a one year full-time MPhil degree, based at The George Institute for Global Health, University of Sydney. The research will explore effective means of communication outreach delivered as part of the drowning prevention program to community members, Government and other stakeholders. Applications are open to Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents, or New Zealand citizens. The scholarship stipend is $30,000 p.a. for one year. More Details

Describing Network and Information Processing Co-Development
A PhD project involving numerical analysis of model data, including neural recordings, and software development on algorithms, is available from the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technologies at the University of Sydney. The project has strong connections with the Research Cluster on Complex Systems. Applicants must have obtained First Class Honours in their engineering or science undergraduate program, this should include an independent research project. The ability to program in C++, Java or MATLAB is recommended. This scholarship is valued at $26,288p.a. for up to 3 years with a possible extension of 6 months. More Details

Inferring Information Network Structure from Dynamics
A PhD project involving software development on algorithms and numerical analysis on model data and brain imaging data sets is available from the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technologies. A background in applied mathematics, physics, computer science, and specifically in infrmation theory and complex systems will be beneficial. Applicants must have obtained First Class Honours in their engineering or science undergraduate program, this should include an independent research project. This scholarship is valued at $26,288p.a. for up to 3 years with a possible extension of 6 months. More Details

Online and offline social networks and the development of sexual agency
A PhD scholarship is available for research into the relationship between social network properties of adolescents and healthy sexual development, in particular, the development of sexual agency. The PhD candidate will be responsible for the development of the social network theoretical framework and methodology for the study. The scholarship is open to domestic and international Faculty of Engineering and Information Technologies students, however fees payable by international students will not be covered. The scholarship is valued at  $26,288p.a for up to 3 years and will be indexed yearly. More Details

Quality Use of Medicines in Dementia in PhD/Top-Up Scholarship
A full-time postgraduate scholarship is available for a suitably qualified candidate with a good honours degree or equivalent in pharmacy, nursing, medicine or a health science discipline to undertake research studies leading to a PhD in Pharmacy. Applicants must be Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents or New Zealand citizens. The scholarship is valued at  $26,288p.a for up to 3 years and will be indexed yearly. More Details
