Austrade showcasing export opportunities in Korea

Austrade recently completed an Australia-wide food and beverage seminar and product showcase program in partnership with State Governments and TradeStart. Hamer Scholarships (Victoria only)

The Victorian Government provides scholarships for Victorians aged 21 or over who are Australian citizens. Recipients will receive A$15,000 for language study in Korea. The scholarships are offered for a minimum of one semester or 5 – 6 months study at Yonsei University, Korea University or Seoul National University. Applications close on the 13th of March 2016. 

 
 
 
 
 

Presentation on Business and Trade Opportunities between Australia and Korea

Australia-Korea Business Council Executive Director Liz Johnston spoke to students from Kyung Hee University about business and trade opportunities in the Australia-Korea corridor.  Each year a group of Kyung Hee University students come to Griffith University to participate in a program that introduces the students to Australian business topics.

 
 
 

Kang Myoun-wook named as new CIO at National Pension Service 

The National Pension Service (NPS) has appointed Kang Myoun-wook as its chief investment officer (CIO) and will manage the national pension fund worth 500 trillion won.

Export Council of Australia releases its Demystifying Korea report 

The report includes:

• An overview of professional, financial, education and other service sector opportunity in Korea;
• An overview of Korea’s services sector, as well as some of the challenges to be aware of in being a foreign service provider in the market;
• Commentary from the field and advice on both challenges and opportunities in the market from businesses operating there.

Australia Korea Foundation Grants now open

The Australia Korea Foundation grants are now open and will close on April 4 2016. The Australia-Korea Foundation (AKF) was established by the Australian Government in 1992 to promote bilateral relations between Korea and Australia. Applications focused on the four long-term priority areas are highly encouraged:

  • trade diplomacy and geopolitics
  • technological and scientific innovation
  • building cultural understanding
