Alpha Iota Alumni Newsletter    -      Spring 2015

Alpha Iota alumni,

I hope this message finds you well. My name is Dylan MacDowell, and I am thrilled to share the first of many "Delta Signal" alumni newsletter updates. I understand that it's been quite a while since you've heard from your undergraduate Chapter at The Ohio State University. As the new Alumni Relations Chairman, I have already begun working to improve communication between the undergraduate brothers and alumni brothers. I will be sending updates multiple times per semester from this point forth, including information about new opportunities to stay engaged beyond graduation from Alpha Iota. 

You are all extremely important to our Chapter, as your work and efforts have created the foundation for an incredible (and continued) future for Delta Sigma Phi at Ohio State. Stay tuned for more Delta Signals, as well as additional engagement opportunities in the near future. For now, here are some key updates about the state of Alpha Iota and where we are headed.

Words from Our President

Dear Alumni,

My name is Christopher Wrobel and I have the extraordinary privilege of being the President of the Alpha Iota chapter of Delta Sigma Phi for 2015.  I am a junior from the beautiful Cleveland, Ohio studying Industrial and Systems Engineering.  I am very humbled and honored to have the opportunity to lead our great organization.  Along with the rest of the Executive Board, we believe that we can take Delta Sigma Phi to new heights here at Ohio State.  We are currently defining our vision of becoming the greatest fraternity at the best university in the world and setting measureable goals to obtain this standard.  As a whole, we aim to increase our attendance at events, expand our Greek relations, and improve bottom up communication within the chapter. 

We are working diligently to surpass the standards we set for ourselves as we pursue our second Pyramid of Excellence Award, recognizing us as one of the top seven chapters in the country.  We are also setting our sights on obtaining recognition as Ohio State’s Chapter of the Year.  As a chapter, we are very excited to move into the future and welcome increased alumni participation as we forever remind the world of the sincerity of our purpose.

Recruitment Update 

Hi Alpha Iota alumni!

I’m Isaac Caverly the new Vice President for Recruitment! A new semester brought in another new class of men into our chapter. Coming off the high of the national championship, the recruitment committee, comprised of Ben Hodges, Connor Hooper, Chris Martin, Alex McWhirter, and AJ Wood, hit the ground running. Over 1,000 thousand texts and emails were sent out during this year’s three week recruitment period. The recruitment period was highlighted by our Wednesday night open house in which had over 25 PNMs in attendance, where they learned more about our outstanding brotherhood.

Our staple recruitment event, Social Excellence at Easton Mall, was led by our very own Jon Conley and went off without a hitch. Ultimately, the recruitment committee and Chapter took deep pride in welcoming 21 New Members into the Delta Class of the Alpha Iota chapter. The Delta Class brings our chapter to over 80 men! Now the recruitment committee is developing a strategy for the fall semester. Be on the lookout as I look to incorporate you alumni into a recruitment event in the future, including a potential alumni mixer.
