Mentees Go For Gold at NBCU Career Inspiration Camp

Mentees Explore Careers in Media

As part of our partnership with NBCU, Girls Write Now mentees were invited to the NBCUniversal headquarters at 30 Rock for a two-day Career Inspiration Camp. Mentees left with new friends, insights about their unique skillsets, and inspiration for their future career journeys. "The NBCU Career Inspiration Camp was one of the best opportunities I've gotten in my life," said Girls Write Now mentee Janiya McCray.

Hosted by Yu & Me Books, the first female Asian American NYC-based bookstore, this author talk will engage writers and readers of all kinds. You'll hear mentees read excerpts from the book and be able to ask Girls Write Now writers about the experience of creating engaging work in collaboration with their community.

Join us for our third edition of the One Letter 4 All workshop, an inspiring afternoon of creative social activism at the home of Girls Write Now. This time, we will write compassionate letters both to women recently diagnosed with breast cancer and to youth from a detention center in Birmingham, Alabama, connecting them all with voices of the Girls Write Now community.
