2024 Project Update

As we settle into the new year, the North West Transmission Developments project team is continuing to progress the design and approvals phase. Our aim is to achieve the best outcomes for the community, the environment, and the project. Feedback continues to help shape the direction of the NWTD and we remain committed to working with landholders, community and stakeholders as the project progresses. If you have any questions or concerns you can contact us anytime by emailing nwtd@tasnetworks.com.au

Eagle Nest Surveying

During March, TasNetworks will be conducting aerial inspections along the proposed North West Transmission Developments route to identify the location of wedge-tailed eagle and white-bellied sea eagle nests. This activity is subject to weather conditions.

TasNetworks uses standardised eagle nest survey methods guided by the Forest Practices Authority. These checks are crucial for gathering information as part of the environmental and social impact assessment process.

Precautionary protocols are followed and surveys are conducted outside of the breeding season to minimise impacts on eagles. For more information please visit the eagle nest survey FAQs page.
