Great Lakes Shoreline Right of Passage
Bill 118 is a Private Member's Bill which would enable beach walkers access to beaches from the water's edge to the high water mark, preventing property owners from blocking transient foot traffic.
Radionuclides are "chemicals of mutual concern"
GBA is among others calling on the Canadian and US Governments to designate radionuclides as "chemicals of mutual concern" under the Great Lakes Water Quality Agreement.
Great Lakes Initiative — Community Cafes
Environment Canada has retained Waterlution, to gather input from the public into the 'Celebration' aspect of the Great Lakes Public Forum. They will be hosting a series of 'Community Cafes' in March.
Forest Health of Eastern Georgian Bay Workshop
The Georgian Bay Biosphere Reserve presents a one day workshop on the forest health of Eastern Georgian Bay on Friday April 22nd in Black Creek Pioneer Village, Toronto.
$19.5 Million for Water
The Canadian 2016 Federal Budget included $19.5 million over 5 years to address water quality and fluctuating water levels in the Great Lakes and 3 other Canada-US water basins.

As of March 18th levels in Michigan-Huron are 5 inches higher than this time last year, 23 inches above Chart Datum and 13 inches above long term average for this time of year.
