Hello WIT@UCSF Members!

It was so great to see so many faces in the room and participants joining via Zoom for our second Lunch & Learn event. A big shout-out to Joanna Kang, Ariel Deardorff, and Karla Lindquist for sharing all the resources that are available at the Library. From data science support to 3-D printing, and even IRL books, there's something for everyone there! Don't worry if you couldn't make it, you can see their recorded presentation here. If you attended you should have already received a post-event survey. Filling this out is an easy way to let us know how we're doing, so please help us and your fellow WIT@UCSF members by taking a few minutes to respond.

Also, thank you to everyone who suggested a panelist for our group's ShareCase2019 proposal. We are in the process of reaching out to the potential panelists with the goal of getting a diverse set of views and experiences. Not only are we proposing to hold a panel discussion, but in alignment with the theme "Connect," we are also proposing a mixer immediately following so that we can continue the conversation and meet more like-minded folks. After we find out if the proposal is accepted we will let you all know. Accepted or not, we will have a booth at the conference and will likely need some volunteers to help staff the table. More to come!

We don't have any Lunch & Learn events scheduled between now and October, so if you have a topic you'd like to present on, we'd love to hear from you! Presenting is a great opportunity for networking, developing your presentation skills, and of course, helping our community members by sharing your knowledge. Where do we get the power in "Power On!"? From you! Shoot us a message to coordinate.

Until next month...

Power on!
