IAMA
A retired bank robber (confessed, not caught!) shares his secrets and experiences

Special shoutout to RandomNerdGeek for collecting and organizing all the answers beautifully here.

Was there a threat involved? Or you just said “give me this money” and they did it?

No threat. I just told them what I wanted, and they complied. This is how it works in America because the amount of money a bank gives up ($5-$7k on average) per bank robbery is infinitely less than the amount of business they’d lose if shit got wild in a bank full of customers. They just want to give you what you want and for you to get the hell out of their bank.

People do really dumb things to their cars. Like donuts at 45 mph. And a whole lot more.
submitted by meowsmcdermick

There’s no shortage of cringe-worthy “what not to do” photos over in r/justrolledintotheshop, and to help keep you from having your own vehicle featured there, the car guys of reddit shared the dumbest things people do to their cars—like forgetting to check the air on the spare tire—that will save you lots of money, time, and embarrassment.

On the note of other chemical reaction gifs, here’s what snake venom does to blood. You probably shouldn’t watch this if you happen to be afraid of snakes. Also, RUN!!!

ASKREDDIT
FROM THE ARCHIVES: redditors share their deepest darkest secrets

TL;DR: I’m a guy and let people believe i was raised in care because i was abused when in fact i had a great childhood except that my mother tried to raise me as a girl.

I speak two languages so every time I received a new essay I would browse the topic in my own language and translate the text word-by-word to English then submitted it. No one ever caught me for plagiarism before.

PICS
FROM THE ARCHIVES: Redditors throw a pizza party for a 2-year-old cancer patient
submitted by Strawberry_Poptart

It started when ashortstorylong noticed a funny message taped in giant letters in the window of a children’s hospital—”SEND PIZZA RM 4112”—and then posted it to reddit.

The response from all the redditors who saw the post may have been a bit larger than what two-year-old Hazel, who had been diagnosed with stage 3 neuroblastoma, and her family expected, as they were inundated with between 20 and 30 pizzas.

Hazel’s story made the news all over, and the hospital posted a thank you to redditors on their blog—along with some pretty darn video of Hazel reacting to seeing herself on the news.

The best part of the story? Hazel is now a happy and healthy four-year-old.
