No Images? Click here With only 3 days until you arrive in college, we wanted to chat about wellbeing. At Wentworth College, we offer workshops and seminars to complement the academic work you are doing and develop your skills. We also aim to develop your understanding of how to manage your own wellbeing. If you need further support we can offer coaching sessions and signpost you to other services that might be beneficial such as the Open Door Team (the University's counselling service). If you think you might need some extra support when you arrive, maybe with something you have not told the University about yet, then please contact us. What to expect on Arrivals DayPlease prepare for a large volume of traffic on and around campus on Arrivals Day. When you arrive you will be welcomed by the College team and student ambassadors. If you are not living on campus, please come down during arrivals week and meet the other students. All of our events are open to all Postgraduate students. You may have heard all sorts of information about your GSA welcome week so far, from club nights, bar quizzes and welcome talks. The Wentworth College welcome runs alongside the GSA events and we offer smaller, focused events to help get you settled and ready for your new career as a Postgraduate student. Please sign up to our free events and take a tour of the website to see what is on offer at Wentworth during the first few weeks of your term with us. If you will be living in Wentworth College, you might find it helpful to explore our Living In Wentworth FAQs. College OrientationCollege orientation is a chance to meet new people and find out more about the community you are joining. The University is a community built on shared values. During orientation we will explain those values and explore how you can contribute to college life. Our orientation week is followed by a week of workshops and events designed to make the transition to PG life at York easier, and allow you to meet fellow students and create networks. Welcome Week Events TimetableThere is a lot to do during Welcome Week. One highlight is always College Night. After a short welcome from the team, we offer a wine and cheese networking reception in the Peter Lee Lounge followed by a very exciting live band - Flatcap Carnival. If you don’t fancy the band (or the wine), come along and watch a movie, meet some students over a cup of tea in the Senior Common Room, or play games and meet interesting societies and clubs in the Games Room. You can even do all of the above! In addition, we have some really exciting daytime activities including a York City Walls History talk and tour, and a boat trip along the river Ouse!
