Request for Proposal: E-Learning for General Practice Nurses
Central and Eastern Sydney PHN is requesting proposals for the provision of e-Learning for general practice nurses. The aim of this project is to build primary care capacity to prevent and manage chronic disease through embedding effective evidence-based and interactive e-Learning in general practice. The e-Learning will be free, delivered flexibly and made accessible to all practice nurses in our region.

Free flu shots for children aged six months to under five years
NSW Health have announced that from April 2018 all NSW children aged six months to under five years of age will be offered free influenza vaccination. Parents can access the free flu shot from their usual immunisation provider, such as their GP, Aboriginal Medical Service, community health centre or local council. It will reduce risk of influenza (flu), minimise the spread of flu and protect vulnerable groups.

Free workshop: Creating Opportunities for Aboriginal People with Disability
Mirri Mirri is excited to deliver a free program on Aboriginal people with disability. This three hour face-to-face workshop will cover issues specific to Aboriginal people with disability, the development of strategies to improve service delivery, and how to become an employer of choice for Aboriginal people. This program also includes access to online learning resources.

Use and misuse of prescription strong opioids
Australia's medicines' regulator, the Therapeutic Goods Administration, has issued a discussion paper on the use and misuse of prescription strong opioids such as oxycodone and whether there is a need for specific regulatory responses.

Invitation for GPs to contribute to the St George Integrated Health Services Plan
South Eastern Sydney Local Health District extends an invitation to GPs to contribute to the St George Integrated Health Services Plan, which will inform future models of care and the further redevelopment of the St George Hospital and Community Health Services Campus. Participants will be remunerated and places are limited.

General practices wanted: AusVaxSafety vaccine safety surveillance system
SmartVax is a free, automated vaccine safety software monitoring system. It is part of AusVaxSafety, a vaccine safety surveillance system operating nationally and led by the National Centre for Immunisation Research and Surveillance. SmartVax actively monitors the safety of vaccines via SMS and smartphone technology, integrating with existing patient management systems.

Chronic low back pain - a clinical trial
Researchers from NeuRA would like to invite allied health care providers in greater Sydney to participate as a recruiting clinician in their NHMRC funded randomised clinical trial: RESOLVE for Chronic Low Back Pain. RESOLVE compares two treatment programs that are designed to activate the body's central pain control mechanisms to determine which treatment is most effective.
