Welcome to another issue of DWP in a week where we were met with troubling news of a foreign hack of the Bureau of Meteorology's supercomputer – what are the implications for Defence? ADM will be following this closely as further news comes to light.

ADM Editor Katherine Ziesing attended the industry briefing discussing the recent Request for Information on Land 400 Phase 3 and the Joint Standing Committee of Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade has recommended in its report that Defence needs to support industry in ways that sustain its essential inputs to capability – for example by encouraging partnerships that foster innovation and lead to exports.

As LHD NUSHIP Adelaide commissions tomorrow we look at the recent ANAO report into Test and Evaluation of Major Defence Acquisitions and the Special Forces are sticking with the Black Hawk for their operations until the MRH90 can be adapted to their particular needs.

The Australian Maritime Safety Authority has adopted Sentient's ViDAR system for use in SAR and the Learmonth base in WA looks set to host a cluster of space tracking sensors as part of a network to deal with increasing space debris.

We look forward to receiving your feedback and news at ADM. Be sure to follow our news on Twitter, facebook and LinkedIn,
