6 Ways ARC's New Bike-Ped Plan Fosters a Bike/Walk-Friendly Region

How do you get a region built for cars to let go of the steering wheel and grab the handlebars or a pair of walking shoes? The key, according to ARC's recently-approved updated bicycle and pedestrian plan, is offering residents safe, comfortable and convenient places to walk and bike.

What is the air quality like in your neighborhood? In the past, ARC was only able to discuss air quality in a regional context. But a sophisticated new tool developed by ARC allows the agency to answer this question for the first time.

 
 

Raising Awareness about the Hidden Crisis of Elder Abuse 

It’s almost unthinkable: the abuse of an older adult. This largely hidden crisis finds older adults falling victim to physical violence, emotional abuse, neglect and financial exploitation – often by the people they trust the most. Wear something purple on June 15 to mark World Elder Abuse Awareness Day.

 
 

LINK Delegation Gathers Insights in Booming Dallas-Fort Worth

About 110 Atlanta leaders traveled to the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex to learn how North Texas tackles major issues, from transportation to economic development. They also toured a park built over a downtown freeway and rode light rail to a thriving suburb.

The ARC Board meets at 1 p.m. on the fourth Wednesday of the month, January through October, and the first Wednesday of December. Agendas and minutes of each meeting are available online.
