Mimi Sinclair March Newsletter No Images? Click here ![]() MARCH - ANTICIPATING SPRINGMarch is a month that gives us hope that Spring is on its way. The weather changes in an instant, and it can go from gray and dull to beautiful in five minutes flat. Annuals start pop out of the ground and the snow is finally starting to melt away. It's a great time to start planning for your Spring activities and home updates. There are so many resources right at our fingertips that can provide inspiration for our next big home change. Different landscaping ideas for Spring, front yards that create curb appeal and backyards that create privacy are things that can all be added to your spring to-do list. Start early so that you aren't caught off guard when the hot summer months roll in. TRANSFORM YOUR PORCH.The entryway to your home is the first contact that people have with your space. It can be welcoming and inviting, or it can be a little too casual and unkempt. By making sure the entry space is well lit, clean, and inviting, you are sending the signal to your guests that you care about your home. Adding character and little decor pieces such as pots and vases, mats and rugs, chairs, and wall hangings can define the space in a cost-effective but dramatic way. The entrance of your home is also a great way to boost curb appeal. If you are looking to sell your home this spring, curb appeal should be a big item on your to-do list. It doesn't matter if your home is gorgeous on the inside, without curb appeal you won't be able to get potential buyers through the front door. Here are some links to pretty entryway decor that will boost your curb appeal and set the tone for your homes' entryway and porch: 1. For dramatic black sconces, click here. 2. For gorgeous front door options, click here. LOVE YOUR BACKYARDYour backyard can be a great space to get away, find privacy, and entertain. It should be treated as an extension of your home and is important to maintain. What functions does your yard need to have? Do you have kids that need room to run and play? Do you have dogs that need a grassy spot? Do you entertain during the summer? Do you need a place for your grill? Evaluate your own needs, and then pick a design that best accommodates you and your family. Make sure you take into consideration all the things you need from your yard so it can be used to its capacity. Consider hiring a landscaper to make sure you are getting optimal use out of every inch of space you have. Updating your backyard can add significant value to your home because a lot of backyards fall short and end up a bit neglected. By having a functional and fun yard, you have a very desirable and stand out home. Even if you aren't looking to completely redo your yard, there are small touches that can completely change the space. Whether your yard is big or small, lighting, a fireplace, seating, garden boxes, and simple decor can make all the difference. Your backyard should be a private space that you can enjoy with your loved ones. Here are some links to some great backyard furniture and design elements that I love. 1.
