2017 PCLP Scholar Furthers Work with NMFAs a 2017 PCLP Scholar in Los Angeles, Frederick Ferguson partnered with his fellow team project members to study methods of Type II Diabetes education that the AltaMed Health Services Corporation clinic system was providing to patients. From group classes to telemedicine intervention, the team’s work explored the socioeconomic factors that affect healthcare outcomes for underserved communities – including those Frederick hopes to serve as a physician. Now in his second year of medical education at the University of California Los Angeles David Geffen School of Medicine,
Frederick has been selected as an NMF Neighborhood Diabetes Education Program (NDEP) Scholar in Los Angeles, where he continues his work in the field of community health.
