We look forward to meeting such an extraordinary group of emerging performers and composers! The next stop on our journey will be Vancouver, for the BozziniLab at Simon Fraser University. On August 13 and 14, we will participate in the world premiere of André Cormier's complete ten-volume work in New Brunswick, which sets "Conversations" - the poem that won the 1999 Governor General's Award (in French) from Herménégilde Chiasson - to music. While Cormier began composing the complete poem ten years ago in 2009, this celebration marks the twentieth anniversary of Chiasson's poem. The complete work will be realized with the Sysiphe ensemble and singers Juliet Fraser and Andrea Young. We are absolutely delighted to present Michael Oesterle's brand new String Quartet No. 4 - co-sponsored by the Earle Brown Music Foundation Charitable Trust and the QB - at the Banff Arts Centre and TIME:SPANS Festival in NYC. The concert in New York will also be the occasion to launch our newest album on Collection QB, Ana Sokolovic: Short Stories. A reception to mark this event and celebrate 3 days of Quebec and Canadian music at TIME:SPANS will close this festive evening! Last stops on the tour: Ostrava Days and Atrium na Žižkově in the Czech Republic, and Ny Musik Borås in Sweden, where we will present the world premiere of Christian Wolff's new string quartet. We hope to see you at one of these destinations and wish you a beautiful and radiant end of summer! |
