Generations exhibition online preview - Depicting Coventry's Gypsy Roma Traveller CommunityRecently featured in the Coventry Telegraph! Curated by Rosamaria Kostic Cisneros Research Fellow at C-DaRE, the Generations exhibition shines a spotlight on Coventry's Gypsy Roma Traveller community and features images of Roma families captured by local photographers Antony Weir and Georgia Bond. The exhibition is one of the outputs of the Gypsy Roma Traveller in Higher Education: Influencing Policy project whose partners include the Belgrade Theatre Coventry. EventsFree Q&A webinar on Dance and Law19th June 11am, with legal expert Professor Charlotte Waelde and dance experts Professor Sarah Whatley and Dr Kate Marsh of C-DaRE. Who owns this dance? What about this one? Or this one? In this period of social distancing, dancing has been happening at home, shared in the digital space on TikTok, Youtube, Instagram and Facebook. Videos go viral, and thousands of people learn and perform choreography on social media. Popular influencers can earn significant sums of money from these viral sensations. But who owns these dances? Can you claim copyright over your choreography, if so, how? What can you do if your choreography has been reproduced without your permission? C-DaRE is hosting a free Q&A webinar for you to ask your questions about dance and the law. You might also want to look at this free toolkit resource that we’ve created around dance, disability and law. It draws attention to legal frameworks in place and how these can be used by all dancers, event organisers and venue programmers to develop a deeper understanding of the law, the language of human rights, and how these can be used to support dance artists. The Toolkit can be found here: The Q&A will take place via Zoom You can submit your questions in advance by emailing ad2944@coventry.ac.uk or just turn up and ask! We look forward to you joining us!
