1. AI epidemic worsens in Kazakhstan and Russia, as Denmark and Germany cull thousands of poultry

Avian Influenza continues to force culling across multiple countries; millions of birds have been culled in Russia and Kazakhstan following multiple outbreaks in the past weeks, as well as tens of thousands of birds at poultry farms in Germany and Denmark.

2. Bakery in Germany investigated in Hepatitis A outbreak

There have been 23 infections of hepatitis A in the community of Dummerstorf in the Rostock district of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

3. Brucella risk from unpasteurized, raw milk warns researchers

Scientists in China have warned about the risk of Brucella outbreaks linked to raw milk. This comes after  the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention has reported hundreds of infections from Brucella melitensis after people consumed raw milk.

6. Over 450 outbreaks in Lithuania in 2019

According to the Center for Communicable Diseases and AIDS (ULAC), over 450 outbreaks were recorded in Lithuania in the last year, with 1,204 people affected and 805 hospitalisations.
