Hello

Here’s a quick rundown of all things C-DaRE for October. The Shape of Sound Collective is organising two free online events titled Encounters with Sound on the 12th and 15th of November as part of this year’s Being Human Festival. Marie-Louise Crawley is leading a workshop on archaeological memory and ancient dance for the University of Parma’s Erasmus + Blended Intensive Programme Memory and Performance: Classical Reception in the Performing Arts. Vipavinee Artpradid and Kathryn Stamp have secured funding from the AHRC Dance Research Matters Network fund. Charlie Ingram presented at the Values and (E)valuations of or as Cultural Practices? Entering a time of pragmatic experimentation at the University of Amsterdam. Siobhan Davies, Rosemary Lee, Karen Wood and Simon Ellis all have artistic work being presented at Light Moves Festival in Limerick. Latest posts from the Journal of Dance and Somatic Practices Equity, Diversity and Inclusion blog are a recap of the 6th International Dance and Somatic Practices Conference 2023 and Building Brave Spaces, Standing Together and Quivering with Purpose: A Collaborative Poetic Journey by Noorafshan Mirza, Ulanah Morris, and Andrea Wright. And lastly, with the new series of Strictly Come Dancing, Karen Wood and Kathryn Stamp have been invited to discuss the show and their project Strictly Inclusive on local and national BBC radio stations.
