 Next Generation of Leaders

We are proud to announce the next generation of talented individuals from within our firm. Their commitment to our vision of creating unique and exciting aquatic centers around the world has played a significant role in the continued success of Counsilman-Hunsaker. Each has used their inspiring ability to make clients and colleagues feel engaged, motivated, and challenged while fostering teamwork to achieve their goals.

If you haven’t had the opportunity to work with them, here is a snapshot of the leadership, expertise, professionalism, and talent they bring to the aquatic design industry.

Doug Cook, PE, LEED AP – Principal & Chairman

As Chairman of the Board, Doug is responsible for managing and monitoring the performance of the firm. He has been an integral part of the strategic planning process and will continue to guide the firm through the execution of future strategic initiatives.  A graduate of the University of Iowa, he is a licensed civil engineer with professional registrations in 34 states. In addition, Doug holds an MBA from Saint Louis University and has earned accreditation as a LEED Professional.

Scott Hester, PE – Principal & President

In Scott’s role as President, he is responsible for leading the daily operations of the Counsilman-Hunsaker team. Scott provides his comprehensive industry experience in all aspects of Counsilman-Hunsaker, including business development, design and engineering, quality control, and facility operations. Scott has a diverse aquatic design portfolio spanning all market sectors. A graduate of Southern Illinois University, he is a licensed civil engineer holding professional registrations in 30 states.

Jeff Nodorft, PE, LEED BD+C - Principal

Jeff is an aquatic design specialist in hospitality and destination water park projects. Jeff’s accreditation as a LEED Professional solidifies his expertise on energy-related topics producing effective and efficient designs while maintaining the creative aspects of an aquatic-themed destination. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin Platteville, he is a licensed mechanical engineer with professional registrations in 14 states. In addition, Jeff has earned an MBA from the University of Dubuque.

Darren Bevard, PE - Principal

Darren possesses a wealth of experience in aquatic design providing practical, cost effective, and efficient designs to serve a variety of user groups and project types. Darren holds a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Memphis where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with university honors and honors in mechanical engineering. He is currently registered as a professional engineer in seven states.

Carl Nylander, PE - Principal

Many of Carl’s efforts focus on the design of aquatic facilities in Canada and other international markets. Additionally, Carl represents Counsilman-Hunsaker as Chairman of the Technical Committee for the Model Aquatic Health Code, an organization aimed at developing a more global approach to the rules and regulations of the aquatic design industry.  Carl earned his mechanical engineering degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology where he aslo swam competitively.  He currently holds a professional engineering license. 

Kevin Post - Principal

Kevin specializes in providing facility evaluations, aquatic feasibilty studies, city-wide aquatic master plans, and Certified Pool Operator instruction. As a past competitive swimmer and aquatics director, Kevin draws on this aquatic experience allowing him to address the needs of various client types.  Kevin graduated from the University of North Texas with a major in computer science and minors in math and technical writing.
