LEHIGH COUNTY REASSESSMENT

If you own property in Lehigh County, you received a Preliminary Notice of Property Assessment this week. Each Notice includes the property’s current assessed value and proposed 2013 assessed value. In nearly every case, the proposed 2013 assessed value is higher (because the prior assessment reflected 1991 values). This does not necessarily mean that your property taxes will increase.

The Notice states in bold whether your property taxes will increase or decrease. By signing onto www.mylehighcountyproperty.com and entering the Control ID located at the top of the Notice, you can determine how much your property taxes can be expected to change.
In the event that you believe your new valuation is incorrect, you can appeal on or before March 16, 2012.

For questions, please contact Marie K. McConnell, Esquire, at Fitzpatrick Lentz & Bubba, P.C., as early as possible, given the informal appeal deadline of March 16, 2012.
