Multilingual COVID-19 resourcesMultilingual resource pack: "Restrictions are still in place" The latest stakeholder pack (available here) contains links to materials in 56 languages. Links to the materials below for your convenience and ease of sharing: New Health Translations October newsletter includes multilingual resources on COVID-19, emergency relief packages, assistance for migrant workers, older person COVID-19 support helpline, financial assistance from energy retailers, thunderstorm asthma, elder abuse, healthy ageing, breast & prostate cancer, cancer treatments and common side effects, mental health, eye health, nutrition and many more. Financial SupportToday the Victorian government announced a doubling of hardship payments for Victoria's most vulnerable, including for those accessing support through the Extreme Hardship Program. Red Cross is delivering the Extreme Hardship Program for people ineligible for income support. Applications can be made via web based portal here: The web portal is now available four languages other than English. In addition to the online application available through the Red Cross website, a dedicated phone line (1800 855 240) is available to respond to people needing support to apply for financial assistance at the Red Cross. The phone line is open from 9.30am-4.30pm Monday-Friday. There is also a FAQ available and flyer. If you are a health or social care professional working with families in the perinatal period and working in the North West areas of Melbourne, please consider taking part in this research. The project is also recruiting refugee background parents from the several cultural and language groups living in the NWPHN catchment area who, since the beginning of the pandemic, have received pregnancy and/or early child healthcare. STIs and BBVs knowledge in migrant populations - new researchThe Victorian state government is supporting a national research partnership project to better understand Blood Borne Virus and Sexually Transmitted Infection knowledge amongst people born in Sub Saharan Africa, South East Asia or North East Asia. Young people, racism & COVID-19CMY and ANU invite you to a lunchtime webinar and launch of their recent report on young Victorians' experiences of racism during COVID-19. Mr Josh Bull MP, Parliamentary Secretary for Youth and Multicultural Affairs, will launch the report. This will be followed by a conversation with experts to discuss how experiences of racism are impacting our community, and what more we must do to address this.
