Additionally, all works are eligible for award distinctions, with up to $4000 in prizes to be distributed.

Deadline for entries: Monday, July 6. Awardees will be announced at the 2020 Diversity Retreat in late July.

Escape from the Doldrums

Remember The Phantom Tollbooth? "You weren't thinking and you weren't paying attention either. People who don't pay attention often get stuck in the Doldrums.”

If you find yourself stuck, we have a suggestion: visit our Creative Cafe! Weekdays from 2:30-3 p.m. we host an online Zoom meetup for creators of all kinds.

Bring your current project, a cold drink, and a snack, and hang with other makers to break the solitude of your creative work. Chat, get inspired, and maybe pick up some new ideas in our virtual coffeehouse.

Check our website for details!

Music, spoken word, skits, storytelling, monologues, short fiction, poetry, and more are all welcome at our Open Mic Nights!

We have four events scheduled for July, and we're looking for performers of all kinds. If you're interested in being a featured performer, just drop us a line.

You can also grab a virtual "ticket" to any night if you'd like to be part of the audience and support our Pitt community, and snag a performance space during the event if you feel inspired to share.

Our open mic page has all the details, plus some great resources for first-time performers!

What's Next?

What summer vacation? Watch out this month for the season two launch of our podcast, Processing... plus the second issue of our zine, The COVe. We also have big news concerning C4C: The Pittsburgh Lens, and more programming headed your way.
