In 2015, a few months after his untimely passing, Parlaphone released what would turn out to be the final reissue project supervised by Bowie, the David Bowie: Five Years 1969-1973 Boxed Set.
Now out of print, collectible condition copies of the set can now cost upwards of $2,000. We have a single copy of the vinyl version of the set available, bundled with one of the special 8x10 prints by Alec Byrne described above. Alec will also sign his photo in the book included with the set on request. The box is brand new, the vinyl has never been played.
Five Years set collects all of the material officially released by Bowie during the nascent stage of his career from 1969 to 1973, including six studio albums, some newly remastered, and an array of rarities, including the 2003 stereo remix of The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From
Mars, previously available only on the DVD portion of the record's 40th anniversary reissue. A staggering 13 LPs pressed on 180-gram vinyl. The 84 page book bundled with the set includes in-depth liner notes, reviews, rare photos (including Alec's), notes from producers Tony Visconti and Ken Scott and a foreword penned by Ray Davies.
Price: $1969
