Work-Related MSK Disorders in Sonographers: Bridging the Gap
|
Last Chance
Register and view before 17th June.
Learn from the expert
Dr Yusef Sayeed, Master Educator-Musculoskeletal Medicine and Director of Pain Medicine and Functional Rehabilitation in Florida, USA presents on musculoskeletal injury relating to ultrasound.
While this may typically affect sonographers, it is relevant to all ultrasound practitioners.
Work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WRMSD) among sonographers were first reported in 1985 as ‘sonographers shoulder’. Cardiac sonographers were first identified for WRMSD in 1993 and extensive surveys built on this further indicating multiple causative factors. International statistics indicate 80-90% of sonographers across disciplines experience work-related pain, with one in five experiencing a career ending injury.
While in Australia and New Zealand this is more prevalent in sonographers, there is increasing evidence of injury and pain occurring across all ultrasound practitioners and needs to be acknowledged and proactively managed before a career ending injury results.

Difficult v Different - Workplace Behavioural Styles
Available until 4 July 2020
|
This session will help you understand your communication style, the styles of others and how to adapt more appropriately for better workplace outcomes.
Given the importance of self-awareness to the role of managers and leaders, developing deeper insights into behaviours and the actions of those around you is integral to success. Further, focusing purely on behaviour and ignoring context can inevitably lead to misunderstanding, frustration and conflict.
Institute of Managers and Leaders' presenter Shannon Cooper hosts a compelling, fun and engaging look at what makes us tick behaviourally and aims to stretch and challenge our perceptions of 'difficult' people.
In this webinar, you will:
-
Explore the science of behaviour
-
Understand your own personality style and how you like to work
-
Identify the difference between a difficult person and a difficult behaviour
-
Develop a model for effective conversation
-
Understand the profiles of your colleagues and how to build cohesion between different profiles
Register and watch this on-demand resource at your own convenience before 4th July 2020.
