Get involved – your way

Here at The National Brain Appeal, we are so grateful to all of you who go to incredible lengths and dig deep to fundraise for Queen Square. We want to improve the outcome and quality of life for all of those with a neurological disorder, and we simply couldn’t do it without your support.

But we always need more help to carry on the good work – and there are so many ways to do this.

One is to join up to one of our runs. We’re excited to be a charity partner for this year’s Windsor Running Festival on 26-27 September and we have places in the half marathon and the Running4Women 10K on offer. It’s a very popular event taking place in stunning surroundings. The iconic route goes through Windsor Great Park and finishes on the Long Walk leading to Windsor Castle. Sign up today!

If running isn’t your thing, there are so many other ways to show your support. Why not design your own challenge - what about these five DIY event ideas?

  1. A balloon release – people ‘buy’ balloons to release in memory of a loved one or to raise awareness for a specific neuro disorder. (Biodegrable balloons are now available.)
  2. A cake sale – brighten up a day at work by baking and selling sweet treats
  3. A summer tea party or BBQ – getting a group of friends together and throwing a party can be one of the best and most fun ways to raise money
  4. Quiz night – a great way of getting people together to have fun
  5. Sponsored events – why not do something you’ve never done before? Like shaving your head, holding a sponsored silence or giving up something − like alcohol − for a month.

The options are endless! Get in touch with one of our fundraising co-ordinators to discuss your ideas and get support and advice along the way.

Show your creative side

We are now seeing a steady stream of incredible envelope artworks sent in for A Letter In Mind: The Art of a Journey exhibition. But we always want more! If you’re an artist – either established or emerging, or enjoy being creative in your spare time, we would love you to take part.

Your artwork will be exhibited at London’s prestigious gallery@Oxo on the South Bank and will be up for sale to help raise essential funds for The National Brain Appeal.

Last year our event was a huge success and we want to make this year’s show bigger and better! Here is all the info you need.

Celebrating Small Charities Week

Small Charities Week raises awareness of the essential work of the UK’s small charity sector – and The National Brain Appeal fully champions the campaign. This week we are asking you to show your support for us on social media, by simply ‘liking’ our #SmallCharitiesWeek post on Facebook or retweeting us on Twitter – both shout outs will go live tomorrow (Friday 19 June). We always love to see how many of you are out there and following us! Will you join in?
