Here's to Fall... No images? Click here Here's to Fall...Welcome to Meee Moments #63. As autumn arrives, the days get shorter, and the air turns cooler. Trees prepare for winter by shedding their leaves to save energy and protect themselves from the cold. As the amount of daylight decreases, the green colour in the leaves fades, revealing the beautiful yellows, oranges, reds, and purples that make fall so special. This transformation creates the vibrant landscapes we love during this season. So, let's celebrate nature's beautiful transition. Here's to Fall... The photo above is one I (Sid) took during a recent work trip at a hotel. When I was younger, I used to look at handrails in bathrooms and think I'd never need them. But as I now approach my autumn years, they serve as a comforting reminder that help is always within reach. This one actually saved me from a fall recently. They may seem odd, but they truly do make a difference! Falling For Gold... The recent Paris 2024 Olympics showcased more than just athletic skill - it was a testament to the human spirit. Take Felix Dolci, a Canadian gymnast whose handguard snapped mid-routine on the high bar, sending him crashing to the mat. Yet, with unwavering determination, he got back up. Though he didn't win a medal, his courage inspired millions. Bethany Shriever, the BMX champion, faced her own fall after dominating the qualifiers. She hit bottom in the final, but her public reflection showed the resilience of a true champion, proving there's more to victory than just winning. And then there was He Bingjiao, the Chinese badminton star. When her Spanish rival, Carolina Marin, suffered an injury, Bingjiao didn't just win the match, she honoured Marin by carrying the Spanish flag. Her act of sportsmanship transcended the competition, reminding us that humanity often shines brighter than medals. These stories remind us that setbacks are not failures but opportunities for growth. In a world that often celebrates perfection, their vulnerability made them relatable and inspiring. It’s not how high we climb that defines us, but how gracefully we rise. So, as we watch the leaves fall this season, let's remember these athletes, not just for their victories, but for how they embraced their own falls. Just as autumn leaves make way for new growth, their stories remind us that every fall holds the potential for a powerful rise.
Meee With Luíza Machado Dias Domingues... This month in our latest Just Meee podcast we are joined by the very talented, Luíza Machado Dias Domingues. Luíza travelled over 9,000 kilometres to the UK to join the tattoo artists at the No Regrets Studios. Luíza shared this beautiful piece with us: “I think most of my dualities interconnect through my work. I'm Luíza, a Brazilian illustrator and tattoo artist currently based in Bristol, UK. My main influences are Japanese (modern and historic) culture and art. As a formally trained architect, the interrelation of form and structure is a common theme in my life in general, independently of the medium. As a human in training, the correlation of emotion and meaning is an empathetic journey of finding and understanding different perspectives and ways of expressing myself, which is completely dependent on my frame of mind. My mind is where my heart is”. Just as autumn brings change and reflection, Luíza's journey and art remind us of the beauty in transitions. Whether it's the shift in seasons or the evolution of our creative expressions, fall is a time to embrace the dualities within us, connect with our emotions, and find new ways to express ourselves. Thank you Luíza.x
Fail Your Way To Success... In Chapter 22 of 'Meee In A Minute',' titled 'FAIL YOUR WAY TO SUCCESS,' Sid discusses how failure is an inevitable part of life. Achieving anything meaningful involves a process, and failure is simply a step along the way, not a reason to stop or give up. It's about winning or learning, not failing. Take a Minute™️ to reflect on the last time something didn't go as planned. Maybe you didn't land that job or didn't perform as well on a test. What lessons did you take away that can help you next time? Don't fear making mistakes. Embrace these 'falls' and use them as opportunities to grow and succeed.

L = Love: Embrace the cosy, comforting feelings that come with fall. Spend time with loved ones, enjoy warm drinks, and make the most of this beautiful season. We really do not know how long they may be with us! So, let's make the most of this magical time of year.
