In only limited cases will flexibility be granted for late applications and accepts and requests will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
The following courses do NOT accept late arrivals under any circumstances so you must ensure applications, offers and accepts are completed with sufficient time to allow for visas:
- Master of Applied Science (Agricultural Science) K7J1
- Master of Applied Science (Microbiology) K7J6
- Master of Laboratory Medicine M7U
The following courses may allow late arrival up to 20 July (with prior permission):
- Fine Arts courses
- Bachelor of Information and Communication Technology 73T
- Graduate Diploma of Information and Communication Technology K6I
- Master of Information Technology and Systems K7I
Courses offered by the Tasmanian School of Business and Economics (TSBE) may allow late arrival up to 26 July (with prior permission).
Courses not listed above may allow late arrival up to 27 July (with prior permission).
If approval is granted, students will require late arrival letters as proof that they were granted approval to miss the start of their course. If late arrival is approved, students must make every effort to enrol in required classes prior to arriving.

For students already in Australia on a student visa, late arrival is easier to facilitate. It is important that all students who can’t commence on Monday 16th July request and receive a late arrival letter from International Admissions.
