'Great British Beer Festival' at The Bull in Watton 26th to 29th May

A special beer festival is being held over this coming May Bank Holiday weekend at The Bull in Watton at Stone from 26th to 29th May. In addition to the three beers on the bar there will be a wide variety of guest beers and ciders available in our marquee. Locally reared pork from Bridget B's will be served up late afternoon as a hog roast on Sunday 28th, and acoustic tones of 'Shaken not Stirred' will have us all dancing on the tables into the evening!  Should be a fun weekend for the whole family! Tasting notes on all beers below.

Bitter 3.7%

HAWKSHEAD BREWERY
A pale, hoppy and bitter ale: a slight elderflower aroma, followed by long bitterness.

Copper Leaf 4.0%

WIMBLEDON BREWERY
Burst of citrus, floral and tropical flavours with complex malt characters of rye, caramel and spice.

Asylum 4.5%

OAKHAM ALES
Insane hop aroma and character, grapefruit and berries to taste before you’re certified to a bitter end.

Cascade Pale Ale 4.8%

SALTAIRE OF SHIPLEY
An American style pale ale with the good bitterness, piney, resinous aromas and the citrus and grapefruit flavours of the Cascade and Centennial hop.

Wild Gravity 5.2%

BAD CO. BREWING & DISTILLING
Robust IPA with a rich and malty baseline that’s balanced with a bold punch of tropical fruit notes.

Beyond The Pale 4.2%

THE LONDON BEER FACTORY
This highly distinctive beer offers a breadth of character seldom found in every day pale ale.

Pale Four 4.6%

TRING BREWERY
Hops, hops and more hops, although this is not just another one dimensional ‘lupin fest’. Cara, Munich and Rye Crystal malts provide a robust base for this punchy American West Coast IPA style beer.

Sussex Best 4.0%

HARVEY'S BREWERY
A blend of four local hops creates a superbly balanced bitter.

Blackberry & Elderflower 4.0%

SHEPPY'S OF SOMERSET
It is a crimson-red cider scented with aromatic elderflower and with the slight fruity sharpness natural to hedgerow blackberries.

Whisky Cask Cider 6.9%

THISTLY CROSS OF SCOTLAND
A gentle whisky flavour initially intermingles with subtle, medium dry cider, giving way to the distinctive full bodied flavour of the cask.

Malvern Gold 6.0%

KNIGHTS
Crusade for flavour with this award winning medium dry reserve cider crafted with a blend of Yarlington Mill, Dabinett & Kingston Black bittersweet apples from Herefordshire

Doom bar 4.0%

SHARP'S BREWERY
The aroma of Doom Bar combines an accomplished balance of spicy resinous hop, inviting sweet malt and delicate roasted notes. The mouth feel is a perfectly balanced and complex blend of succulent dried fruit, lightly roasted malty notes and a subtle yet assertive bitterness. The bitterness remains into the finish with dry fruity notes which implore the drinker to go back for more.

Ghost Ship 4.5%

ADNAMS SOUTHWOLD
At 4.5% abv, this Pale Ale has a good assertive pithy bitterness and a malty backbone. It is brewed with a selection of malts – Pale Ale, Rye and Cara – the use of Citra, and a blend of other American hop varieties creates some great citrus flavours.
