Fall!

Welcome to Meee Moments #75 – Fall! 🍂

As the northern hemisphere steps into autumn and the southern welcomes spring, it’s the perfect moment to reflect on change, renewal, and the beauty of letting go.

This month, we’re embracing the spirit of Fall, not just the season, but the opportunities it brings to pause, reset, and reconnect with what truly matters.

The image above was taken at home on the 29th of August with my wonderful children.

We had just spotted this beautiful butterfly, a Small Copper, and to our delight, it gently landed on Freddie’s hand. A magical moment, especially as Freddie had just turned 9 on the 26th. Nature has a quiet way of surprising us, and this was one of those precious moments, a small reminder of the beauty that surrounds us.

As autumn arrives, encounters like this remind us of the subtle transitions in the world around us, the changing colours, cooler air, and the gentle presence of creatures like butterflies.

Did you know that the Small Copper (Lycaena phlaeas) is one of the UK’s most widespread butterflies. Though small, it's bold and territorial, often chasing off much larger butterflies. A little symbol of confidence and colour in a changing season.

Let this be a month to gather what’s meaningful, let go of what’s not, and create something beautiful in the process.

Fall: A Season For Reflection And Renewal 🧡

In our latest Just Meee podcast, Charlie’s Promise, Martin Cosser shares the story of his son Charlie and the foundation he created in his memory.

Charlie's Promise is a courageous call for change, a movement committed to protecting young lives and transforming grief into purpose.

These powerful words come from Eloise, Charlie’s sister, who lost her brother and first best friend:

"Unfortunately, Fall feels even heavier when you've lost someone.

It is a perfect parallel to our grief and it demonstrates how there is change to the world around us, and we have no power to stop it.

It also mirrors the way grief settles in. The trees that once held striking shades of colour and beauty are stripped of what made them appear alive and warm.

When they surrender their leaves, there is a feeling that every one that drifts to the ground is like another reminder of how easily life slips away, and reinforces the sad reality we now live in.

We are no longer feeling alive and warm, and our colour and joy inside us has been stripped from us, leaving us fragile and empty.

The air becomes sharper and colder and wraps itself around us like their presence once did, but instead of comfort, it leaves emptiness and an absence of warmth.

The days grow shorter, and as darkness settles in earlier, it deepens the shadow that has already swallowed our lives.

Fireworks explode, lighting up the sky, but they do nothing to quiet the ache inside.

Each burst of beauty that fireworks display is gone almost as quickly as it arrives.

But grief does not flare and vanish. It lingers like the smoke in the air after the show.

Every fleeting spark, every dying leaf, reminds us that some things leave forever and some endings cannot be undone."

Thank you, Eloise, for your stunning honesty, and Martin, for your unwavering commitment to change. Your voices are helping to shape a safer, more compassionate world.

The Opportunity Of Fall

The seasons bring change, and with that, both challenge and opportunity.

Fall, or autumn, is often seen as a time of slowing down, darker evenings, and colder days.

But look again, and you’ll see something else entirely.

“Autumn shows us how beautiful it is to let things go.”

In nature, fall is a time of release. Trees shed their leaves not as a sign of loss, but as a way to prepare for renewal.

The same is true for us. Letting go of what no longer serves us, habits, expectations, even outdated goals, creates space for something new.

Fall invites us to reflect, to recalibrate, and to reconnect.

It’s a season for thoughtful action, cosy creativity, and planting the seeds of future growth.

So instead of resisting the change, embrace it.

Take a Minute™️ to ask: What do I need to let go of? And what new opportunity might take its place?

And if you do, we’d love to hear from you, tell us what you’ve let go of: gone@meee.global

Take Out The Rubbish

Inspired by Chapter 60 of Meee In A Minute,

🟡 Take a Minute™️ today to clear out your mind clutter.

We take the bins out every week without a second thought, so why don’t we do the same with our mental rubbish?

Negative thoughts and disappointments pile up just like household waste. If left unchecked, they start to smell, weigh us down, and impact our wellbeing. The placebo effect shows us how belief can heal, but its lesser-known twin, the nocebo effect, proves that negative thoughts can genuinely make us ill.

Try this: write down the thoughts that no longer serve you. Then get rid of them, shred them, bin them, burn them safely. The act of letting go is powerful. It’s not about denial; it’s about creating space for something better.

What will you throw away today?
