Budget overview
Our Acting Mayor Amanda Cohn and General Manager Frank Zaknich are delighted to present the draft budget 2019-20. It's a low rates rise budget that promises plenty of exciting things in the year ahead.

New opportunities to enjoy riverside experience
Important stream bank protection works in the draft budget will pave the way for big things on the Murray River foreshore. As well as the ongoing improvements at our riverside parks, we're looking forward to a riverside revolution - including the creation of a jetty, boardwalk and other attractions - along the river bank behind the Albury Swim Centre.

On the move
Transport improvements at Thurgoona-Wirlinga are a key component of the draft budget, with works progressing on intersection upgrades, road extensions and much more.
Go with the flow
In this financial year, we're expanding and improving our water and sewer network to ensure a continuous flow of quality services - including the extension of water mains to Table Top.

A sporting chance
The next stages in the redevelopment of the Lavington Sports Ground will be important steps forward as we work towards creating one of regional Australia's best sporting venues.

Taking care of a special place
Monument Hill is more than a landmark for our city - it's also a solemn place of remembrance where we honour those who served and died for our freedoms. As part of our work to take care of this special place, we'll be undertaking important improvements to landscaping, security and amenities.

Flying high
Albury Airport is set to fly even higher under plans to expand the western general aviation precinct to meet a demand for new airside lots.
Skate plans
After extensive feedback from the community, we're beginning detailed designs for a new skate park that will draw skaters and riders from miles around.
Wonga wonders
We're pressing ahead with plans to develop a major visitor education and experience centre in our world-class Wonga Wetlands.
Game on!
Detailed investigations will begin this year into important improvements at the Lauren Jackson Sports Centre.
Waste wise
Environment and education are key features of additions and improvements to the Albury Waste Management Centre in the draft budget.

Let us entertain you!
We're planning to build upon the city's booming conference and events market through major works at the Albury Entertainment Centre. Included in the planning stage will be an expansion of the Convention Wing to help us attract even bigger business, conference and tourism events - which will have flow-on benefits to the wider economy.
Better access
Families and visitors will have easier access to Glenmorus Memorial Gardens under plans to develop an extra 30 car parking spaces on site.
Bright idea
Our streets will be more environmentally friendly with improved visibility when we replace all old halogen street lamps with modern LED lighting.
Booked in
This year, we'll be spending $200,000 to make sure the shelves of our libraries are fully stocked with great reading, to meet a growing demand.
