1. Outbreak reported in South Korea, as ASF causing disaster in the Philippines

South Korea have confirmed 2 African Swine Fever (ASF) outbreaks after none reported for seven months. Meanwhile, ASF outbreaks have been reported in 12 regions in the Philippines since 2019.

2. Salmonella outbreaks in Sweden and Denmark

Swedish authorities are investigating a Salmonella outbreak with more than a dozen cases in less than two weeks, and in Denmark over 40 cases have been linked to a herbal supplement.

6. Salmonella Typhimurium – are all subtypes equal?

UK researchers have found that two closely related types of Salmonella Typhimurium, called U288 and sequence type (ST) 34, can have different effects on the health of pigs and the risks they pose to food safety.

7. Most likely cause of onion Salmonella outbreak is irrigation water

A report has been released by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)  on the investigation of the Salmonella Newport outbreak. The outbreak caused over 1,600 reported illnesses across the US and Canada between June and October 2020.

9. E. coli outbreak from December 2020 under investigation

12.05.2021. USA. E. coli

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) continues to investigate the possible cause of an E. coli outbreak that sickened 22 people across seven states. The outbreak has been declared over.
