An Update from our CEO

As we move through another busy and productive period for Wyndham, it is encouraging to see our region continuing to attract attention and important conversations about its future.

This month, Committee for Wyndham hosted the 2026 State Budget Lunch with Victorian Treasurer The Hon. Jaclyn Symes MP and Mr John Lister MP, Member for Werribee for the 13th year in a row. Bringing together more than 110 leaders from business, government and the community, the event provided a valuable opportunity to hear directly from the Treasurer about the State Budget and discuss the priorities that will shape Wyndham and Melbourne's West in the years ahead.

Advocacy remains at the heart of what we do. Whether through events such as the State Budget Lunch, participating in regional discussions like On the Horizon: Melbourne's West,  or creating opportunities for members to engage directly with key decision-makers and major organisations, we continue to ensure Wyndham's voice is represented where it matters most.

The months ahead will provide even more opportunities for connection and learning. Our upcoming Business Leaders Lunch with Dennis Family Corporation, the exclusive members tour of the expanded Werribee Mercy Hospital Emergency Department, and our 15th Economic Update Lunch delivered by Commonwealth Bank are all designed to keep our members informed, connected and engaged with the issues and developments shaping our region.

This edition also highlights the important contributions of our members and community. We celebrate the work of Greater Western Water in supporting a more sustainable future, acknowledge Sanctuary Lakes Golf Club's ongoing commitment to community investment, and congratulate Point Cook's Jordan Bos on representing Australia on the world stage at the FIFA World Cup, an achievement that is a source of pride for our entire community.

As Wyndham continues to grow, so too does the importance of strong partnerships, informed advocacy and meaningful collaboration. Thank you to our members, partners and supporters for your ongoing commitment to helping shape a prosperous, connected and thriving future for our region.

I hope you enjoy this month's newsletter.

Kind regards,

Leanne Down CEO, Committee for Wyndham

East Werribee Momentum Continues

The Committee for Wyndham continues to play an active role in advocating for the future of the East Werribee Precinct, one of the region's most significant long-term employment and investment opportunities.

Following recent engagement with businesses, education providers, health organisations and other precinct stakeholders, work is now underway to reactivate an East Werribee Reference Group. The group will provide an ongoing forum for collaboration, discussion and advocacy as planning and development of the precinct progresses.

The Committee for Wyndham is also preparing for the East Werribee Summit in September, which will bring together business, government and community leaders to explore the future direction of the precinct and the opportunities it presents for jobs, investment and economic growth.

As East Werribee continues to evolve, the Committee for Wyndham remains committed to ensuring the voices of local stakeholders help shape the precinct's future and support the delivery of outcomes that benefit the broader Wyndham community.
