Women who sleep longer at night tend to have more sexual desire and better genital arousal than those who don't, American researchers report. 

In addition, sleeping one extra hour each night increases their chances of partnered sex the next day by 14%. 

The study, published online in March in the Journal of Sexual Medicine, involved 171 women with an average age of 20. For two weeks, the women submitted daily reports on their sleep the night before and their sexual activity during the previous 24 hours. 

Sleeping longer appeared to have sexual benefits, including improved desire and arousal and a greater likelihood of having sex with a partner the next day.
