Reflection

Eternal God,
in wisdom and love
you created our earth
to sustain and give us life.

We turn to you now
in faith, hope and love,
asking you to look with favour
on our fire-ravaged and drought stricken land,
on our starving and
displaced animals,
on our failing crops and burning
farms, towns and forests.

Strengthen, sustain and give new heart
to our farmers
and to all who are affected by drought;
be with those who support them.
Strengthen and comfort the victims of fires,
those who have lost family, friends, property and stock.
Protect our volunteer firefighters and all members of essential services.

In your loving providence,
send abundant rain to quench the fires
and to restore our parched earth..

Father of all compassion,
hear our prayer
through Jesus Christ your Son,
in whom the promise of new life
has dawned, and
through the power
of the Holy Spirit,
the Lord the giver of life.
Renew your faithful people.
Renew the face of the earth.
Amen.

Greg's Message

Hello Parents and Friends of St. Anne’s
Welcome everyone to the 2020 school year. I hope that this year is a positive, happy and successful year for everyone who is connected with St. Anne’s School. A special welcome is extended to our new families: Carter, Hamod, Malindretos, Nery, O’Loughlin, Vuong and Zuccarelli.

On a sad note the bushfires are certainly a stark reminder as to how suddenly we can become vulnerable, and our lives can change very quickly. Let’s pray for those who have been affected by the bushfires; may they continue to be supported by us as they come to terms with their devastating losses.

Cybersafety

We have organised an information evening for parents to help keep up to date with changes in technology. This 90 minute session is run by both an education consultant and a psychologist. We're opening it up to all year levels but with a direct focus at years 3-6.

This is a parent only session and one we would like both parents to attend if possible. For those having difficulty with child care we are happy to supervise students in the library.

Please fill out the eForm on skoolbag app to let us know if you are attending. At the moment numbers are low.

Please note year 6 students will be issued Chromebooks to take home later that week. If you are unable to make that evening we will offer an afternoon session passing on the information and then issue the Chromebook.

Thanks
Tara Smith

Skoolbag App

Skoolbag app is a great way to send communication home instantly and sustainably. You can find it in the app or google play store.

Please adjust your group notifications settings for your child/children's class for 2020. Year 5 and 6 students have a year 5/6 sports group where we send out notifications for interschool sport etc.

Any parents having issues with the app please see me before or after school on a Wednesday or Thursday.

Thanks
Tara Smith

Religious Education

“SO IN EVERYTHING DO TO OTHERS WHAT YOU WOULD HAVE THEM DO TO YOU.”  Matthew 7:12

This year, in alignment with our school values, we have chosen a piece of scripture that ties in with the value :BEING KIND AND CARING.
Being the Year of Matthew in all the gospel readings, we as a staff thought it was appropriate to choose this particular passage for the year 2020.
You will see this particular piece of scripture in all of our newsletters each week, it will be displayed in all of the classrooms, multi purpose hall, performing arts area. This passage is going to drive all our learning and we want the children to be able to see the connectedness of this passage and the relevance of it in our lives.
We want the children to see that the passage is very much a part of our everyday life-both at school and at home.
So as a family-both a school  and at home, how are you going to live out this Matthean quote this year? Let’s start by...sending along a family photo (or photo-copy of one) to the school for us to prominently display on our wall. Please leave it at the office attentioned to Clare Bellio.

Congratulations too, to our Faith and Social Justice Leaders for 2020: Harley Clarke, Charlie Ryder and Chiara Hurley. Welcome aboard!
