COS Computers Required Updates - March 30

UCF IT approved the March 2017 Microsoft updates for installation to all College of Sciences computers on Thursday 03/16/17.

This means that all UCFIT COS managed Windows computers should expect to have a required restart as early as Thursday night 03/30/17.

If a computer is powered off by the time the required restart comes around, updates may install immediately the next time the computer is powered on, followed by an automatic restart of the computer.

UCF IT Two-Factor Authentication

UCF IT is committed to protecting all personal information. To assist faculty and staff in mitigating the risks to any personal information from cyber threats, such as phishing attempts, UCF IT will be implementing additional myUCF protections beyond the use of username and password.

Beginning Wednesday, April 19, multi-factor authentication (MFA) will be implemented on the myUCF portal when viewing W-2 information or changing or updating direct deposit information.  Multi-factor authentication combines something private (myUCF login and password) with a unique token or a smartphone app. Without the token or app, W-2 or direct deposit information will not be accessible after April 19.

As the implementation date nears, additional information on UCF's multi-factor authentication service will be provided.
