FSIAD: Better Couple Adjustment When Partners Respond Positively

Women with female sexual interest/arousal disorder (FSIAD) fare better when they perceive their partners' responses as positive rather than negative, according to a recent Journal of Sexual Medicine paper.

Women had more relationship satisfaction when their partners were "warm" and "understanding," the authors said.

The final analysis involved 66 women with FSIAD and their partners. Both members of the couple completed questionnaires separately, once at the start of the study and again one year later.

Partners reported more sexual and relationship satisfaction when their responses were positive.
