Travel, Immigration and Quarantine Information

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION CAREFULLY IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO TRAVEL TO LONDON FROM OUTSIDE OF CANADA

All Western students are required to complete all necessary testing and quarantine requirements and must register their mandatory travel and quarantine plan with Western and via the ArriveCAN app prior to arrival in Canada.

If you are an international student who is eligible to enter Canada and is fully vaccinated with a Health Canada-approved vaccine (Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, AstraZeneca/COVISHIELD and Janssen/Johnson & Johnson) you may be exempt from select quarantine requirements, including the three-day mandatory government-approved hotel stay and the Day 8 COVID-19 test, but you must still register your travel and quarantine plan with Western.

For eligibility information, please visit the Government of Canada website. Please note that the vaccines approved by the World Health Organization for students living in residence may not be Health Canada-approved for quarantine exemptions.

Students who do not meet the new eligibility requirements will still need to complete all the steps required to travel to Canada from abroad. Visit the International Arrival website for details and information on:

  • quarantine requirements
  • immigration and travel
  • steps for travelling to Canada
  • vaccine information
  • and more!

Please note that government travel requirements continue to change. We will provide updates on our website and via email as needed.
