CHINESE LANGUAGE COURSES FOR AU STAFF

Are you going to China and want to have a basic knowledge of Chinese?

Then you now have a chance to sign up for module 2 of the Chinese course for AU staff!

The module 2 course will begin 29 September or 2 October with application deadline 28 September 2014.

It is free to attend and you will get a set of course books and CDs for attending this course.
The courses are setup with realistic goals. It is not expected that you will be able to write Chinese scripts when you are done. The main focus is on helping you to achieve oral language compentence, understanding a simple conversation in Chinese, and eventually speaking simple Chinese.

Please note that registration is required no later than 28 September.

EXTRA GETTING STARTED IN DENMARK IN SEPTEMBER

International Centre is providing extra Getting Started in Denmark events every Friday in September.

A large number of new employees and guests are coming to Aarhus University this month. 
In order to reduce long waiting hours, the Getting Started in Denmark event at the International Centre in Aarhus will be held every Friday in September.

What is Getting Started in Denmark?
Getting Started in Denmark is an event organised by AU International Centre that offers orientation and registration for newly arrived international PhD students, researchers and their spouses. The event provides you with important on-arrival information and the opportunity to get registered with the public authorities for your EU residence certificate, CPR number and tax card.

NEW RULES REGARDING USE OF THE EU HEALTH INSURANCE CARD

On 1 August 2014 the rules were changed so that it is no longer possible to use the yellow health insurance card as travel insurance. Instead, you should use the blue EU health insurance card or take out private travel insurance.

REMEMBER TO REGISTER YOUR NEW ADDRESS!

If you are one of the new citizens of Aarhus, be sure to register your new address within 14 days after you have moved.

You are obliged to inform the National Registration/ Citizens Service  of your new address when you move. If you register too late the movement triggers a fine of 500 Dkr.

How do I move?
You must report your new address online at https://nemlog-in.dk/login.aspx/noeglekort  All you need is your NemID and your new address.

You must report your move within 14 days after you have moved, but you can do it earlier. You can register your new address up to one month before you move.

MEET THE NEW LÆRDANSK COORDINATOR ON CAMPUS SIMONA ION BÃDULESCU

My name is Simona Ion Badulescu and I am the new Lærdansk Coordinator on campus for all the international students and employees from Aarhus University. My role is to give counseling and offer all the necessary information you need in order to start your Danish education, answering any questions about Danish classes, enrolment, procedures or other practical details. I will help you choose the best and most suitable option so that the Danish language will be your first tool to get to know the cultural and social norms while in Denmark.
