1. Canadian outbreak linked to US onions has ended

Public Health Canada has reported that the Salmonella Newport outbreak linked to US onions has ended. A total of 515 confirmed cases were linked to this outbreak.

2. ASF cases in Germany reach 40

Reuters reports the latest new cases of ASF brings the total number of confirmed infections to 40 since the first case on 10 September. All cases were in wild animals and no farmed pigs have been affected.

3. Shigella outbreak in Denmark with 40 sick

Over 40 people are sick, with almost a third needing hospital treatment following a foodborne Shigella outbreak in Denmark.

4. Sprout recall continues amid investigation of Salmonella outbreak

Fresh sprouted micro greens linked to a Salmonella outbreak were distributed more widely than originally thought. Canadian officials report the recalled sprouts were sent to Nova Scotia, as well as Ontario and British Columbia.
