Prevalence of GPPPD Depends on Methods Used

What is the prevalence of genito-pelvic pain/penetration disorder (GPPPD)? The answer depends on criteria used to calculate it, experts report.

In a recent Journal of Sexual Medicine study, researchers described their methods for determining GPPPD prevalence among 590 married women in Iran.

Each woman completed a self-report checklist and two questionnaires.

Prevalence rates ranged from 10.5% to 26% depending on assessment criteria used.
